DOBO – Documentary Film (January 2025)

Co-directed by Yodit Tadess and Fitsum Beza, with Fitsum Beza as cinematographer and Eyuale Yeshitela as editor, DOBO is a cinematic documentary set in Ethiopia’s Omo Valley. The story follows a city girl immersing herself in the life of the Hamar people, capturing themes of beauty, love, and cultural connection through expressive visuals and natural storytelling. Shot on the Sony FX3 with professional prime lenses and aerial footage from a Mavic Pro 2, the film was edited and colored in DaVinci Resolve. It premiered at the European Film Festival in Addis Ababa and the Can Africa Film Festival in Paris, earning outstanding recognition.

Produced by Ruby Pictures and co-directed by Esarale and Fitsum Beza, with Fitsum as Director of Photography, Ney Mela is a conceptual, cinematic music video that visually captures the emotion behind the song’s lyrics. With its rich color palette, storytelling, and atmosphere, the video beautifully synchronizes sound and imagery. It has achieved remarkable success, surpassing 6.7 million views on YouTube.

Toxic Love – Music Video (2025)

Directed by Jezy and Fitsum Beza, with cinematography by Fitsum Beza and editing by Amanewal Ashenafi, Toxic Love explores the complexities of emotional relationships through cinematic storytelling. The music video was praised for its visual intensity and was nominated for Best Video at the East African Music Awards. Shot with the Sony FX3 in 4K, it continues to gain widespread attention and acclaim.
